Senior Enterprise Applications Developer (KAFKA) Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop integration microservices for the NextGen “Stream Data Platform” based on Apache Kafka.
- Accelerate our adoption of the Kafka ecosystem by creating a framework for leveraging technologies such as Kafka Connect, KStreams/KSQL, Schema Registry, and other streaming-oriented technology.
- Contribute to our microservice and connector infrastructure in the GCP cloud.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical discipline and a minimum of 6+ years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree and 4+ years of related experience, or a Ph.D. and 2+ years of related experience.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, and has the ability to write well-structured user stories and participate in Agile ceremonies using Jira as the agile tool.
- Experience and familiarity with Kafka Apache and with writing Kafka microservices using KStreams or other streaming technologies are a plus.
- Experience or exposure to one or more of the following business applications is desired – Oracle EBS and Fusion, Oracle Service Cloud, and/or Salesforce.
- Foundational knowledge of distributed systems design and operations, and a track record of developing software, with an understanding of how to build production-quality solutions that scale and are fault tolerant.
- Solid programming proficiency with Java, and best practices in development. And a passion for writing high-quality, rock-solid software, including test automation (unit/integration).
- Familiarity with integration software, including message buses (e.g. RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, TIBCO), and integration brokers (e.g. Dell Boomi, IBM MsgBroker, SnapLogic, Tibco BusinessWorks).
- Familiarity with wire formats such as XML, JSON, Avro, CSV, etc.
- Familiarity with Dell Boomi is a plus.
- Familiarity with Oracle DB and NoSQL stores a benefit: HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
- Basic understanding of Linux, TCP/IP, and network connectivity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
